Alabama Economic Outlook ©
CBER publishes its annual short-term forecast for the Alabama economy as the Alabama Economic Outlook.
The 2026 Alabama Economic Outlook includes forecasts for the national and statewide economies, including output and employment by sector, as well as current economic conditions and trends. The publication also includes the latest economic and demographic data, investment highlights, and forecasts for the state’s twelve metropolitan areas. Each year, the feature article explores a topic relevant to the Alabama economy. The 2026 feature article, Alabama’s Evolving Workforce by Dr. Nyesha Black, explores the long-term workforce trends, STEM growth, and digs into the challenges of forecasting employment numbers.
